The Ernakulam Rural District Police reported that they receive multiple complaints daily from victims who have been scammed out of lakhs of rupees through fraudulent job offers abroad.

A 28-year-old man, identified as Shanid from Mykavu near Kozhikode, Kerala, died on Saturday morning while undergoing treatment after swallowing two packets of MDMA to evade police. According to reports from PTI, Shanid had multiple drug-related cases against him at Thamarassery and Kodencherry police stations.

R. Sreelekha, Kerala’s first Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday, expressing her belief that this decision would allow her to better serve the public. Sreelekha, who is a 1987 batch officer and retired as the Director General of the Kerala Fire and Rescue Services in 2020, made her announcement in Thiruvananthapuram, where she received her party membership from BJP state president K.
