On Monday, a peaceful Ganesh Chaturthi celebration in Surat turned chaotic when stones were thrown at a Ganesh pandal in the Sayedpura area, leading to six arrests. Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi confirmed that six individuals were detained for their involvement in the incident, which disrupted the festivities.

In a tragic incident in Surat's Sachin Pali village, a six-storey building collapsed today, leaving several people injured and many feared trapped under the debris. The incident occurred amidst ongoing heavy rainfall in the region, further complicating rescue operations.

Heavy rainfall has lashed several parts of Gujarat, including Surat, Amreli, and Valsad, causing severe waterlogging and disruption. Videos shared by ANI from major cities depicted streets flooded with water, causing significant inconvenience to residents.
