Security forces and terrorists are engaged in an intense firefight in the Bani area of Kathua district, Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter began following a search operation launched by security personnel based on intelligence reports of terrorist activity in the region.

The operation, which occurred near the Narayanpur, Dantewada, and Kondagaon districts, resulted in the recovery of weapons from the encounter site, as confirmed by Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar.
