BJP MP Urges Lok Sabha Speaker to Investigate BSP Leader Danish Ali's Conduct

In the midst of escalating tensions within India’s political arena, another Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament, Ravi Kishan Shukla, has appealed to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, urging an investigation into the conduct of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Danish Ali. Shukla’s request comes in the wake of allegations of “unparliamentary” behavior and the use of incendiary language by Ali during recent sessions of the Lok Sabha.

This development follows an earlier appeal made by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who called on the Lok Sabha Speaker to examine the actions and statements of Danish Ali, who had faced derogatory remarks from BJP member Ramesh Bidhuri during a parliamentary session.

Ravi Kishan Shukla’s letter to Speaker Om Birla, dated Sunday, emphasizes the need to reevaluate the circumstances that led to the use of “objectionable” language by MP Ramesh Bidhuri against Danish Ali. While Shukla acknowledges that Bidhuri’s choice of words was “inappropriate and unacceptable,” he contends that these remarks were made amidst continuous heckling and disruptions by Ali during a heated exchange of arguments.

The letter further delves into Danish Ali’s alleged habit of heckling fellow parliamentarians. Shukla recalls an incident from December 9, 2022, when he was tabling a Private Members Bill titled ‘The Population Control Bill, 2019.’ During this session, Ali attempted to interrupt Shukla, making personal remarks about the MP’s family size. Shukla decries this behavior as “unacceptable” and calls for a thorough examination by the esteemed office of the Lok Sabha Speaker.

While acknowledging that the events of September 21 in the Lok Sabha were “unacceptable in any way,” Shukla requests a retrospective examination of Danish Ali’s unparliamentary acts and language during the presentation of his Private Members Bill on population control in 2022.

Nishikant Dubey’s earlier appeal had accused Danish Ali of offering a “running commentary” during Ramesh Bidhuri’s speech in the Lok Sabha, along with making unsavory remarks aimed at instigating him to lose his composure. Dubey also alleged that Ali made a “highly objectionable and blasphemous” remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In the midst of these developments, opposition parties have intensified their call for stringent action against Ramesh Bidhuri for his derogatory remarks against BSP MP Danish Ali. Congress chief whip in Lok Sabha, K Suresh, has joined the chorus, demanding the immediate suspension of Bidhuri and the referral of the matter to the privileges committee.

As this issue continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will respond to the appeals made by BJP MPs and the demands from opposition parties for action against those involved in the recent parliamentary exchanges.
