Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s daughter Harshita Kejriwal tied the knot with her college friend Sambhav Jain on Friday, April 18, in a grand wedding ceremony held at Delhi’s iconic Kapurthala House. The event was attended by several top Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, including Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia.
The couple, who met while studying at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, had been close since their college days. Both Harshita and Sambhav pursued their undergraduate degrees at IIT-Delhi, with Harshita completing her degree in Chemical Engineering in 2018.
After graduation, Harshita worked as an associate consultant at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Gurugram. The couple also co-founded a healthcare startup named Basil Health, combining their academic background and entrepreneurial aspirations.
According to a report by Mint, Sambhav Jain currently works as a project management consultant with a private company. The duo got engaged at Delhi’s Shangri-La Eros Hotel in a private ceremony prior to the wedding.
Harshita is the elder child of Arvind and Sunita Kejriwal. She also has a younger brother, Pulkit Kejriwal.
The wedding came shortly after a significant political shift in Delhi. In the recently concluded Assembly elections, the AAP lost power to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after a decade-long governance. Kejriwal lost his New Delhi seat to BJP’s Parvesh Sahib Singh, ending his continuous tenure since 2013. Other senior party leaders like Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, and Saurabh Bharadwaj also faced electoral defeats.
