AAP Alleges ED Conspiracy to Harm Sanjay Singh, Accuses BJP of Vengeance

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Dilip Pandey made a striking claim on Wednesday, suggesting that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is plotting harm against Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh, who was arrested by the probe agency last week in connection with a money laundering investigation. At a press conference in New Delhi, Pandey asserted that the recent events, including Singh’s appearance in court, have exposed the BJP’s political intentions and a thirst for revenge.

Pandey stated, “The events that followed Sanjay Singh’s appearance in court yesterday and the truth that emerged, it exposed BJP’s cheap politics and intention of revenge.” He went on to allege that it has become apparent that the ED is conspiring to harm Sanjay Singh on the directions of the BJP. Pandey emphasized that this is a significant matter that should be addressed by both the ED and the BJP.

A special court, in its recent hearing, extended Sanjay Singh’s custody with the ED until October 13. The extension was deemed necessary based on the discovery of new facts and the recovery of fresh digital evidence in a recent search conducted by the federal agency.

During the hearing, Sanjay Singh raised concerns about the ED’s intent, claiming that they attempted to move him from their office with “ulterior motives.” He recounted an incident where he was told he was being taken elsewhere late at night without prior court notification. Singh questioned the necessity of such actions and sought a written court order to authorize any movements. The ED dismissed Singh’s allegations of any wrongdoing.

The judge presiding over the case also questioned the ED’s actions, stating that Singh should not be removed from their custody without a court order. The court further noted instances of harassment faced by Singh’s advocates and family members who sought to visit him.

Dilip Pandey pointed out the mistreatment faced by Singh’s family members and advocated for their rights to meet him in ED custody. The court took cognizance of these concerns and directed the ED not to make any movements without its explicit permission, ensuring that Singh’s family can meet him during his custody.

The situation remains complex, with AAP alleging political vendetta and ED facing scrutiny for its treatment of the case. The ongoing developments will likely shed further light on the matter and its implications.
