Indian Army Fires at Suspected Pakistani Drone Along LoC in J&K’s Rajouri

In a recent development along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, Indian Army troops fired at a suspected Pakistani drone. The incident occurred late Saturday night when the drone briefly entered Indian territory before returning to the Pakistan side, as reported by PTI quoting officials.

Despite an extensive search conducted by security forces in the Keri sector, no suspicious items were found on the ground. Officials have expressed concerns about the potential use of drones by anti-national elements to smuggle weapons and narcotics into Indian territory. However, they reassured that security forces are fully prepared to counter such attempts effectively.

In another incident highlighting border surveillance efforts, the Border Security Forces (BSF) recovered a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone in a harvested field in Punjab’s Amritsar district. The recovery came following intelligence inputs provided by the BSF intelligence wing regarding the presence of a drone in the border area of Amritsar.

The BSF launched an extensive search operation and successfully recovered the drone in village Havelian of District Amritsar. The recovered drone, identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic, underscores the ongoing challenges of illicit drone activities along the border.

This recovery follows a previous incident where security forces intercepted a drone carrying a packet of suspected heroin. The timely action by security forces in tracking and recovering drones demonstrates their commitment to curbing illicit activities and ensuring border security.
