“Indian Air Force Prepares to Display Strength in Gagan Shakti Drill on Lucknow-Agra Expressway”

Date:

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is gearing up to showcase its prowess in the Gagan Shakti drill, scheduled to take place on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway on April 7. This event marks a significant display of the IAF’s capabilities and readiness.

To facilitate the drill, the Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) stretch of the highway has been closed from April 1 to 10, as confirmed by officials. The entire exercise spans ten days and will be conducted at ten different locations across the country. The showcase on the Lucknow-Agra expressway is set for Sunday, following a rehearsal drill held on Saturday.

The forthcoming display will feature a range of military aircraft, including select fighter jets, helicopters, and other aircraft. Notably, the MiG-21 aircraft, slated for phase-out by 2025, will also be part of the demonstration.

During Saturday’s rehearsal, a variety of aircraft participated, including the Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jet, AN-32 transport aircraft, Mirage-2000 fighter aircraft, Tejas, Chinook, Apache helicopters, and the Prachanda helicopter.

The Gagan Shakti drill is a significant event for the IAF and occurs approximately every five years. It serves as a platform to showcase the IAF’s capabilities, technological advancements, and preparedness for various scenarios.

The Sunday showcase is expected to draw attention to the IAF’s operational readiness and its role in ensuring national security. It also provides an opportunity for the public to witness the strength and professionalism of the Indian Air Force.
