The mountaineering and adventure sports department at SSU was launched today by Lieutenant-General NAV KUMAR KHANDURI

On June 18, 2022, the new Mountaineering and Adventure Sports department at Sri Sai University in Palampur was officially opened. The Chief Guest for the event was Lieutenant General Nav Kumar Khanduri, who is the General Officer Commanding the Headquarters of the Western Command. With this new programme, Sri Sai University has established the country’s premier university to provide it. The honorary guest was Major General Atul Kaushik, also the Honourable Chairman of the HP-PEIRC in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. He proffered his ideas on various adventure sports. By delivering this really novel course, we intend to educate future mountaineers and other adventure sports professionals, as well as trip leaders, adventure park administrators, search and rescue experts, and many others. Others who spoke at this event, including Dr Harshwanti Bisht (IMF President), Brig. Narendra Kumar (Brigadier), Brigadier K Kumar (Brigade Commander), Colonel SC Sharma (Colonel), DIG Avinash Negi (DIG), Prof. Milap Chand Sharma (Professor), and Dr Shrawan Acharya (Director) (Director). This event was attended by the vice-chancellors of state universities, educational leaders, and representatives of some of the most notable climbing teams in the country. Mountaineers from every region of the country are recognised for the positive contributions they have made to the overall welfare of the nation.

On the eve of the inauguration of the new Chancellor of Sri Sai University in Palampur, Er. SK Punj, the Managing Director, Mrs Tripta Punj, the Pro-chancellor Kanwar Tushar Punj, and Vice-Chancellor Prof. R S Rana expressed their gratitude to every notable for their contributions to the success of this programme. The distinguished Chief Guest expressed his gratitude to those present for participating in the event and extended his best wishes to Sri Sai University in Palampur for providing this one-of-a-kind programme.
