“Maratha Quota Agitation Leader Manoj Jarange-Patil Hospitalized Amidst Demands for Reservation Implementation”

Date:

Manoj Jarange-Patil, a significant figure in the Maratha quota agitation, has been admitted to the hospital after experiencing a decline in health subsequent to his participation in a public assembly. Renowned for leading the protest advocating reservation for the Maratha community in Maharashtra, Jarange-Patil’s hospitalization follows his efforts to raise awareness about the community’s demands.

The activist had been on a tour across various regions in Maharashtra, passionately championing the cause for Maratha reservation. In his advocacy, he specifically directed attention towards Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, alleging that individuals in proximity to Fadnavis had made disparaging remarks about the Marathas, urging Fadnavis to intervene and prevent such occurrences.

Expressing urgency and determination, Jarange-Patil emphasized the community’s demand for reservation and set a deadline of December 24 for the state government to meet this requirement, warning of potential consequences if the demand remains unmet.

“This is my final plea,” he stressed, highlighting the need for harmony and unity among the people. He underscored that a handful of individuals close to Fadnavis were critical of the Maratha community, calling for immediate action to address this issue.

Despite expressing confidence in Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s potential to resolve the matter, Jarange-Patil asserted that if the government fails to implement the reservation policy by the set deadline, the agitation will intensify, extending its focus to the administration.

“We see your (Fadnavis) rhetoric, but we demand action. We trust that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will address our concerns. However, if our demands are not met, our protest will escalate against the government post-December 24,” he stated firmly.

Jarange-Patil’s hospitalization amidst the ongoing activism underscores the fervent dedication and determination within the Maratha community to secure their rightful representation through reservation. The situation points to escalating tensions and growing urgency as the deadline approaches, signaling the potential for heightened agitation if the community’s demands remain unfulfilled.
