Yogi Adityanath Calls Maha Kumbh a 'Rare Event of the Century', Says 62 Crore Devotees Have Attended So Far

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday described the ongoing Maha Kumbh as one of the “rarest events of the century,” with an estimated 62 crore devotees having participated so far. Speaking at the Unicorn Companies Conclave in Agra, the Chief Minister likened the massive gathering at the religious festival to a “Unicorn Maha Kumbh” in the startup world, highlighting its unparalleled significance.

Maha Kumbh’s Significance

Welcoming guests at the conclave, Adityanath said, “There is an attraction towards the Maha Kumbh at this time. It is a unique spiritual and cultural phenomenon that has influenced India’s civilisation for a long time.” He emphasized that such a vast congregation of people for a single event, whether religious or tourism-related, is an extraordinary occurrence in history.

A Cultural and Spiritual Revival

The Chief Minister, who also serves as the Mahant of Gorakshapeeth, spoke about the deeper significance of the Maha Kumbh, suggesting that it was envisioned as a means to reconnect Indians with their traditions. “There might come a time when people feel disconnected from their culture. The Maha Kumbh serves as a powerful medium to re-establish that connection, bringing people back to their spiritual roots,” he said.
