PM Narendra Modi Takes Holy Dip in Triveni Sangam at Mahakumbh in Prayagraj

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday, where he took a holy dip in the sacred Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers.

Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, PM Modi made a symbolic boat ride to reach the Sangam, immersing himself in the holy waters as part of the age-old spiritual tradition. Holding ‘rudraksha’ beads and chanting sacred mantras, the prime minister offered prayers at the holy site.

Reflecting on his experience, PM Modi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to perform the Puja-Archana. “Today, I got the great fortune of performing Puja-Archana after bathing in the holy Sangam at Prayagraj Maha Kumbh. I got immense peace and satisfaction from the blessings of Maa Ganga. I prayed to her for the happiness, prosperity, health, and well-being of all the countrymen. Har-Har Gange!” the prime minister posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.

The Mahakumbh Mela, one of the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gatherings, began on January 13, coinciding with Paush Purnima, and will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26. Devotees from around the world come to the Mela for spiritual renewal, rituals, and community bonding.

During his earlier visit to Prayagraj in December, PM Modi had inaugurated 167 development projects worth ₹5,500 crore. These projects focus on enhancing connectivity, infrastructure, and public services, further improving the accessibility and experience of the Mahakumbh for devotees and visitors.

As the Mahakumbh Mela continues, PM Modi’s visit marks another significant moment in the religious and cultural history of the event, which is deeply woven into the spiritual fabric of India.
