Tragic Incident: Two Agniveers Killed in Shell Explosion During Firing Practice in Nashik

In a tragic turn of events, two Agniveers lost their lives when a shell from an Indian field gun exploded during firing practice at the Artillery Centre in Nashik, Maharashtra. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon in the Nashik Road area, as reported by local police on Friday.

According to official statements, a team of Agniveers was engaged in routine firing exercises when one of the shells malfunctioned and exploded. The two individuals sustained severe injuries and were quickly transported to MH Hospital in Deolali. Unfortunately, they were pronounced dead upon arrival.

In response to the incident, Havildar Ajit Kumar filed a complaint, leading to the registration of a case of accidental death at the Deolali Camp police station. Authorities have initiated further investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the explosion.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and the military establishment, highlighting the inherent risks associated with artillery training. As the investigation unfolds, officials are expected to provide further details regarding safety protocols and the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.
