
In a tragic incident on Friday, three people have lost their lives following the collapse of a portion of a two-storey building in Jahangirpuri, northwest Delhi. The incident occurred at around 12:51 PM when a section of the building, which houses a garment factory, gave way.
According to officials, the building was undergoing some repair work at the time of the collapse. Mukesh Kumar, aged 45, was among those injured and was taken to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Two other individuals, including a woman, were retrieved from the rubble but were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) responded swiftly to the emergency call, dispatching five fire tenders to the location. The local police and additional rescue teams have also been mobilized to aid in the ongoing rescue efforts.
Authorities have indicated that there may be more individuals trapped under the debris, intensifying the urgency of the rescue operation. The rescue teams are working tirelessly to locate and assist any potential survivors. The cause of the collapse is under investigation, and further updates are awaited as the situation unfolds.
