Another Hit-and-Run Tragedy in Mumbai: Speeding BMW Claims Life of 28-Year-Old, Driver Arrested

Mumbai witnessed yet another hit-and-run incident involving a high-speed vehicle, leading to the death of a 28-year-old man. On July 20, Vinod Laad was fatally injured in a collision with a speeding BMW in the Worli area of Mumbai. The incident, which has sparked public outrage, was reported on Monday.

According to India Today, Vinod Laad was riding his two-wheeler home from work when Kiran Indulkar, the driver of the BMW, struck him from behind on Abdul Gaffer Khan Road. The force of the collision threw Laad onto the road, and Indulkar fled the scene, leaving Laad severely injured. Local residents rushed Laad to a hospital, but despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on July 27, a week after the accident.

The police have arrested Kiran Indulkar in connection with the incident. This case marks the second BMW-related hit-and-run in Mumbai this month and the third such case overall. Earlier in the month, on July 7, Mihir Shah, the son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah, was involved in a hit-and-run where his BMW collided with a scooter, resulting in the death of a 45-year-old woman and injuring her husband. Shah was arrested and has been in judicial custody since July 16, with his case currently ongoing in Sewri court.

Adding to the string of recent accidents, another incident occurred on July 28, when an Innova car hit a rickshaw in Navi Mumbai, causing the death of the rickshaw driver. The vehicle, after losing control, collided with two additional cars. The driver fled but was later apprehended by the police.

Additionally, on July 22, an Audi was involved in a collision with two rickshaws, injuring both drivers and passengers. The car was compounded, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
