Tragic Bus Accident in Uttarakhand Claims 7 Lives, Rescuers Swiftly Respond to Save Survivors

In a heart-wrenching incident, a bus journey from Gangotri to Uttarkashi turned into a tragic catastrophe as the vehicle lost control, plummeting into a ditch in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi town. The unfortunate accident claimed the lives of seven individuals while leaving several injured. The bus, carrying 35 passengers who hailed from Gujarat, faced a devastating fate on the winding roads of the region.

As the incident unfolded, rescuers immediately sprang into action, racing against time to extract survivors from the mangled wreckage. Swift and valiant efforts saw 27 passengers being successfully pulled out from the twisted metal remains of the bus, which had plunged several feet below the road surface. Amongst the survivors, one passenger remained trapped behind the protruding metal debris, prompting rescuers to diligently work on cutting through the obstacles to reach and free the individual. Regrettably, the ordeal ended tragically for the remaining seven passengers, who lost their lives in the accident.

Additionally, he emphasized the importance of making proper arrangements for the treatment of the injured passengers. Chief Minister Dhami also conveyed his heartfelt prayers, expressing hopes that the departed souls find peace and their bereaved families find the strength to bear the heavy loss. He extended his wishes for the speedy recovery of all those who sustained injuries in the accident.

At the scene of the accident, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) swung into action, deploying personnel to assist in the rescue and recovery efforts. The collaborative efforts of these dedicated individuals are a testament to the resilience of human spirit, even in the face of tragedy.
