In a disturbing turn of events, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has reportedly received another death threat, with an anonymous source demanding a ransom of ₹2 crore. According to police sources, this threat was communicated to Mumbai traffic control earlier today. Authorities have registered a case against an unidentified individual, citing sections related to extortion and death threats.
This latest threat comes shortly after a 20-year-old man was arrested in Noida for allegedly issuing death threats against both Salman Khan and Zeeshan Siddiqui, the son of Baba Siddique, a prominent MLA from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Siddique was tragically shot dead on October 12. The arrested individual, identified as Gufran Khan, has been brought to Mumbai under a transit remand for further investigation.
Previously, another suspect, 24-year-old Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, a vegetable seller from Jamshedpur, was detained after Mumbai’s traffic police received a WhatsApp message threatening Khan. That message demanded a staggering ransom of ₹5 crore.
Salman Khan’s security has been heightened in light of these threats, which are believed to be linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. This group has previously targeted the actor, reportedly due to his involvement in a high-profile blackbuck hunting case that dates back to the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain. In April, members of the gang opened fire outside Khan’s residence in Bandra.
The situation has escalated following the murder of Baba Siddique, who was known to be close to Khan. Appearing on the television show Bigg Boss just days after the incident, Khan expressed reluctance to return to the show, citing the emotional toll of recent events but indicated that work commitments compelled him to do so. He also mentioned feeling unprepared to meet anyone amid the current distressing circumstances.
Authorities are continuing to investigate these threats, aiming to ensure the safety of Salman Khan and others involved.
