IndiGo and Other Airlines to Move Operations from Delhi Airport’s Terminal 2 Due to Maintenance Work

IndiGo has announced that it will cease operations from Terminal 2 (T2) of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport starting from April 15, 2025, due to ongoing maintenance work. The airline will only operate flights from Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 3 (T3) moving forward, as T2 undergoes necessary upgrades.

In a statement released on Sunday, IndiGo informed passengers that all flights originally scheduled to depart or arrive at T2 will now be shifted to Terminal 1. The airline emphasized that this change would take effect from April 15, and that passengers will be notified via email and WhatsApp regarding the reassignment of their flights. IndiGo further confirmed that a list of affected flights would be made available on their official website for easy access to the updated information.

This operational shift comes as part of the maintenance work being carried out at T2, which will affect not only IndiGo’s services but also those of other airlines that operate out of the terminal. Akasa Air, another major airline serving T2, has also confirmed that all its flights will now operate from Terminal 1, specifically from the newly upgraded Section 1D of the terminal.

The transition to Terminal 1 coincides with the complete operationalization of Delhi Airport’s newly upgraded T1 from April 15. According to Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), travelers can expect a smoother and more comfortable journey at the revamped terminal, which boasts better connectivity and world-class facilities. The upgrade to T1 is expected to offer enhanced services and improved passenger experience, setting the stage for better operational efficiency.

For travelers, it is important to stay updated with the latest information regarding terminal changes. IndiGo has made provisions for passengers to access flight reassignment details on their website, while also offering support via digital notifications. These measures aim to ensure that the transition goes as smoothly as possible, minimizing inconvenience for passengers.

As maintenance work continues at T2, the shift in operations underscores the ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure at IGI Airport, ensuring that it remains a world-class hub for air travel.
