Standing at just 4 feet 8 inches, actor Jaffer Sadiq has quietly achieved what many towering stars of Indian cinema couldn’t — a staggering ₹2200 crore cumulative box office collection across five films. With appearances in blockbuster hits alongside industry giants like Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, and Shah Rukh Khan, Sadiq has emerged as an unexpected yet bankable force in Indian cinema.
Once a professional dancer, the 29-year-old actor began his screen journey in the 2020 Tamil anthology series Paava Kadhigal. It was in 2022, however, that he made his mark on the big screen, playing a gang member in Vikram, the Kamal Haasan-starrer that grossed ₹414 crore worldwide. His brief but memorable performance opened new doors, landing him a role in Jailer (2023), featuring Rajinikanth, which went on to collect ₹605 crore.
Jaffer’s major breakthrough in Bollywood came with the 2023 Shah Rukh Khan blockbuster Jawan, where he once again played a henchman to Vijay Sethupathi’s antagonist. The film raked in ₹1150 crore globally, marking Shah Rukh Khan’s highest-grossing project to date. Most recently, he appeared in Baby John alongside Varun Dhawan.
Despite not yet playing a leading role, Jaffer Sadiq’s ability to choose the right projects has earned him a rare feat — a box office track record surpassing that of superstars like Salman Khan, Prabhas, Ranbir Kapoor, and Sunny Deol in the same timeframe. In fact, only Shah Rukh Khan outperformed him during 2023, with a total of ₹2600 crore across three major releases.
As Sadiq continues to add powerful cameos and supporting roles to his filmography, fans and critics alike are watching to see if India’s shortest mainstream actor will also become one of its biggest success stories.
