“Five Dead as SUV Crosses Divider and Collides with Truck on Raipur Highway”

A tragic accident on National Highway 53 in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur claimed the lives of five people on Thursday after their SUV lost control, jumped a road divider, and crashed into a truck.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Lal Ummed Singh, the accident occurred under the Mandir Hasaud police station limits near Umariya village. The victims were en route to Arang when the driver lost control of the SUV, leading to the fatal collision.

“All five occupants of the car died on the spot. The locals alerted the police around 2 PM, and a team was immediately dispatched to the accident site,” SP Singh stated.

The driver of the truck involved in the accident has been detained for questioning as authorities begin their investigation. The police have recovered an identity card belonging to one of the deceased, who was from the Urla area of Raipur. The identities of the other victims are yet to be confirmed.
