In a startling development, three prominent hotels in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, received bomb threats via email, prompting immediate action from law enforcement agencies. The threats, which have been met with a swift police response, mentioned several high-profile individuals, including Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, the wife of Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, and Tamil Nadu’s Director General of Police (DGP) Shankar Jiwal.
According to reports from India Today, the email threat also referenced Jaffer Sadiq, a kingpin in an alleged drug trafficking network, who was arrested earlier by the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Enforcement Directorate. The police confirmed that an FIR has been lodged regarding the bomb threats, with investigations ongoing to explore multiple angles.
“We have received bomb threat notifications at three hotels. An FIR has been filed, and our investigation is exploring multiple angles. Rest assured, we are committed to swiftly identifying those responsible for this threat once our inquiry concludes,” stated Srinivasulu, the circle inspector at Tirupati East Police Station, as quoted by ANI.
The threat mail made grave allegations against Tamil Nadu’s senior police official Shankar Jiwal, claiming he had “collaborated with PAK ISI” to orchestrate bomb blasts aimed at diverting attention from Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi. The message suggested that the blasts were necessary due to the “impact created by Jaffer Sadiq’s arrest in the drug case,” asserting that it was a tactic to shift focus away from the involvement of MK Stalin’s family in the ongoing investigation.
In addition, the email claimed that there was “international pressure” following Sadiq’s arrest and that the blasts were a strategic move to draw attention away from this situation.
Jaffer Sadiq, who is not only a Tamil film producer but also a former member of the DMK party, was arrested in July on charges of money laundering. Investigations into his activities continue, raising concerns about the implications of this case on the Tamil Nadu political landscape.
As investigations into the bomb threats continue, authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. The police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents and visitors in the area.
